It is important to never use acidic-based cleaners, powdered cleansers (such as Ajax™ or Comet ™) on cabinets. Generally, a thorough cleaning should be performed once a year, with a basic cleaning performed each week. It is a good idea to keep a spray bottle of all-purpose cleaner handy to spot-clean after heavy use.
A gentler approach is necessary on wooden cabinets. To remove stubborn dirt, wash around all handles and other greasy zones with a hand dishwashing detergent. Then, clean the entire cabinet, including the handle areas, with oil soap such as Murphy’s Oil Soap.
