Whether your trying to liven up your kitchen for the season, or just want to hang something fun from your front door, here are a few ideas and helpful tips you can use to better accessorize your home.
Cabinets: Sometimes cabinets can be a little boring with their uniform, modular ways. Furniture in the kitchen is a trend that has been making headlines lately, but you don’t have to get any. Adding corner legs to cabinets give the impression that the cabinets are somewhat freestanding, giving your kitchen an instant rustic feel. Trim and molding along the ends and edges can also give your cabinets a more sophisticated look. If you have a little more to spend, you can always go with custom work that fits both your vision and home. Nothing makes a first impression like something you’ve never seen before, and that goes for cabinetry too.
Doors: Doors are one of the first things people see when coming over, so why not take the opportunity to make a statement. Painting a door with some exotic color is always a choice, however some people like to be a little more subtle. Hanging a simple decoration or ornament that fits the season can be a great addition to your home. Another idea that’s been making waves is adding a decal of some sort on your door; They’re fast, affordable, and often times easily removable.
Shelves and Mantels: Do you have an empty wall that can’t really fit anything yet? Install some nice shelf space or a mantel to better complete whatever room it is that your working on. When installed, furnish with some pictures and a vase, and boom, the room you once thought was lacking is now a head turner!
Have fun!
