In this day and age it seems that most people choose subtle sophistication over loud colors and extravagant, almost novelty decorations throughout the different rooms in the house. According to the Huffington Post, some of the major trends being seen in kitchens everywhere emulate these very features, and for good reason: they bring out every single detail you could want in your kitchen while still being visually quiet and intentionally under-stated.
Greys are a good way of doing this in that they don’t take up too much attention when we see them, in that complimenting other colors even more so. Greys also mimic metallic and stainless surfaces, giving a futuristic, modern look in some cases. It doesn’t always have to be plaster molding or brick-inlay work to give a custom feel, sometimes a simple color change or an addition of an accessory can give new life to a rather dated-looking room.
